Brain and Spine Services we provide:
Our department provides comprehensive Neuro oncological, Skull base, Brain and spine trauma, Functional, Microvascular, Endovascular, Paediatric neurosurgical, Endoscopic, Keyhole surgeries Minimally invasive Spine surgeries and peripheral nerve surgeries.
Brain surgeries:
These are the common Brain diseases that we treat here at AIG Hospitals
- Malignant brain Tumours

- Posterior fossa tumours
- CP angle lesions
- Intraventricular tumours
- Cerebro vascular lesions
- Paediatric Brain diseases
- Functional Neurosurgery
- Epilepsy surgeries
- Traumatic brain Injury
Spine surgeries:
The Spine institute led by the Neurosurgery team at Dotcure delivers comprehensive care related to the spine. Our team of spine experts specialises in restoring and maintaining the neurological function, as well as re-establishing optimal biomechanics in the spine.
- Complex Craniovertebral junction anomalies: Congenital, Traumatic, Infective/Inflammatory craniovertebral junctions anomalies may cause quadriparesis with trivial trauma, which can be treated with transoral adenoidectomy and posterior fixation or posterior fixation alone.
- Degenerative Spine conditions: Many elderly and working adults suffer from degenerative cervical and lumbar disc diseases which can be managed by conservatively with the assistance of well-trained physiotherapists who will help in doing isometric neck exercises and back strengthening exercises. Non-improving cases can be treated by surgeries like ACDF, posterior decompression and or fixation. Lumbar disc diseases and listhesis can be treated by Minimally invasive spine surgeries and instrumentation with the assistance of O arm and navigation. We have dedicated pain clinic services to manage chronic pain conditions with epidural and faceted blocks.
- Spinal tumours: Spinal cord tumours like Intra medullary lesions (Astrocytoma, Ependymoma, Haemangioblastomas), extra-medullary lesions (Schwannomas, Neurofibromas, Meningiomas) can be excised safely with the help of intraoperative fluorescence technology sophisticated continuous real-time neuromonitoring. Primary vertebral lesions like haemangiomas, multiple myeloma and metastatic vertebral lesions can be treated with excision of lesion and fixation.
- Spinal vascular malformations: Spinal AV fistulas and vascular malformations can be treated with endovascular embolisation or surgical excision of the vascular lesions based on individual pathology.
- Congenital spinal malformations in children: Developmental anomalies in newborn babies like dysgraphic spinal lipomas, ruptured myelomeningoceles, split cord malformations, and tethered cord syndromes can be managed with early corrective surgery with intraoperative neuromonitoring so that lower limb weakness and bladder and bowel dysfunction can be avoided.
- Traumatic spinal injuries: Complex traumatic cervical fractures like Odontoid fractures, Hangman fractures, Cervical listhesis, and dorsal and lumbar spine fractures can be managed with Spinal instrumentation with the assistance of a C-arm / O-arm and advanced navigation system.
- Peripheral nerve surgeries: Brachial plexus injuries can be managed by negotiation techniques like Oberlin, Somsack, and Spinal accessory to supraspinatus nerve transfer. Nerve entrapment syndromes like carpal tunnel and cubital syndromes can be managed with endoscopic/open nerve decompression.Intractable pain following brachial plexus injury and spasticity can be managed with DREZotomy, Spinal cord stimulation can be done for the failed back syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, and Painful peripheral neuropathies. Baclofen pump insertion is done for severe spasticity.
